Workout 13.4

7 minute AMRAP of:
3 Clean and jerk
3 Toes-to-bar
6 Clean and jerk
6 Toes-to-bar
9 Clean and jerk
9 Toes-to-bar
12 Clean and jerk
12 Toes-to-bar
15 Clean and jerk
15 Toes-to-bar
18 Clean and jerk
18 Toes-to-bar…
This is a timed workout. If you complete the round of 18, go on to 21. If you complete 21, go on to 24, etc.

Men – 135lb; Women – 95lb; Master’s Men – 115lb; Master’s Women – 65lb

Jason just threw down a score of 21…he put 135lbs overhead (his body weight) 12 times! Very impressive…congratulations Jason!! Update: Cheryl just threw down a score of 21 as well. This is a personal best for her as well…I am so f*&$%ing impressed with you two!!

Last week’s combo of burpees and snatches was pretty lethal. This week’s WOD doesn’t look any less deadly…

10 minute AMRAP of:
5 Shoulder to overhead, 115 / 75 lbs
10 Deadlift, 115 / 75 lbs
15 Box jump, 24 / 20 inch

2012 CrossFit Games – The Man Behind the Beard: Lucas Parker

Lucas Parker placed 15th in the 2012 CrossFit Games, top Canadian male. He has some pretty cool insights into training for the Games, and for life in general.

 

2013 CrossFit Games

The 2013 CrossFit Games begin today. Jeordie, for one, is very nervous! What torture can the CrossFit people dream up this year? Open WOD 13.1 was released at 5pm today. Here’s what Jeordie, and all other registered athletes, face this week:

Workout 13.1

17 minute AMRAP of:
40 Burpees
30 Snatch, 75 / 45 lbs
30 Burpees
30 Snatch, 135 / 75 lbs
20 Burpees
30 Snatch, 165 / 100 lbs
10 burpees
Max rep Snatch, 210 / 120 lbs

The CrossFit Games have grown from just over 100 athletes competing in 2007, to over 69,000 participants competing in the Open last year. This is tremendous growth, attesting to the worldwide popularity of CrossFit.

Come in and throw down one of the Open WODs…and cheer on the athletes from CrossFit South Delta: besides Jeordie, they are Jason Fung, Melanie Kennett, and Peter Motzek. Go team!!
